World Autism Awareness Day observed in Cuddalore

Officials and volunteers on Wednesday pledged to raise awareness of autism at an event organised by the district administration at the Collectorate on the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day.

Speaking at the event, Cuddalore Collector Sibi Adhithya Senthil Kumar said that early intervention was essential as it would help in the skill and overall development of autistic children.

Parents should take children for screening if they found them to be having communication issues. Early screening has helped in achieving better results, he said.
