Leadership crisis in TG with AICC remote- controlling Congress govt.: BJP

Spread the News

The BJP has charged the Congress Government with being “remote- controlled” by the All India Congress Committee (AICC), questioning the participation of Telangana party in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan in the meeting of Cabinet Ministers and University of Hyderabad (UoH) representatives.

Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar wondered aloud if there is a “leadership crisis” in the State and alleged that there is a total collapse of constitutional boundaries with “special invitees” participating in official meetings.

In a post on ‘X’ and later in a press statement on Tuesday, he accused the Revanth Reddy Government of becoming a “rubber stamp” government and ridiculed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s talk of ‘Saving the Constitution’ after sending “AICC agents” to “remote control” Telangana.

“The party in-charge and Congress Working Committee (CWC) member is acting like a de facto Minister by interfering in every issue and attending an official meeting at the UoH. It looks like we have a ‘Delhi Durbar’ Government, not a Telangana Government,” remarked Mr. Sanjay Kumar.

Chief spokesman N.V. Subash picked up from there and accused the government of being run by the Congress Party headquarters of Gandhi Bhavan, with the party in-charge acting like a “Shadow CM” because Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had no grip on the administration.

“What is the message the Congress Government intends to send with the official Chief Minister being frequently missing in action? Is this how the people’s government functions?” he questioned. Citizens at large are a confused lot unable to make out whether they should approach the ministers concerned working at cross purposes or the officials who are “reluctant to act” to represent their grievances.

Triple engine

Meanwhile, in a meeting held on the occasion of V. Srinivas Reddy taking over as Ranga Reddy party chief, Rajya Sabha MP K. Laxman and Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender exhorted the cadre to work towards winning a majority of seats in the upcoming local body polls, including the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

The duo, in their respective speeches, said this will enable formation of the ‘triple’ engine government in the future. They claimed that the Revanth Reddy Government has lost people’s confidence.
