Pro-synod groups join hands against rebels in Ernakulam-Angamaly Archdiocese

Spread the News

Pro-synod groups of the faithful in the Ernakulam-Angamaly Archdiocese of the Syro-Malabar Church have joined hands to form the ‘One Church One Qurbana’ movement against the rebel group of laypeople and priests in the archdiocese to support the unified Mass and the official Church hierarchy.

The pro-synod groups called for the resignation of Major Archbishop Raphael Thattil and his vicar Joseph Pamplany, who, they alleged, were trying to sabotage orders from Rome regarding the Mass issue and the rebellion within the archdiocese.

The groups also alleged that the recent formation of a trust to handle properties was intended to deprive laypeople of their rights. Those who took the lead in forming the trust should be ousted from the Church immediately, they said.

They also questioned the Church leadership, which, they said, had failed to take action against those who had continuously rebelled against orders from the Church administration.
