Police suspect foul play in man’s death at Manjeswaram

The police suspect foul play in the death of a man whose body was reportedly found in a well at Kunjathur near Manjeswaram on Friday morning (April 11).

The deceased was identified as Mohammed Sherif, 52, a native of Kolanad in Mulki, Karnataka, and an autorickshaw driver based in Mangaluru. An autorickshaw, which Sherif’s relatives later confirmed as his, was found near the well.

Sherif had reportedly gone missing on Wednesday night (April 9), and his relatives had lodged a missing person complaint with the Mulki police. A dog squad and a forensic team examined the area.

The police registered a murder case after multiple cut marks were reportedly found on Sherif’s body. The body was shifted to the Kannur Government Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination.
