Raichur DC office receives bomb threat; Bomb squad conducts inspection

Raichur: A bomb threat email was received by the Raichur Deputy Commissioner’s office on Thursday, claiming that an explosive device had been planted in the newly established DC office located in the outskirts at Eklaspur Layout. Following the alert, staff members rushed out of the building in panic.
Deputy Commissioner received the threat via email, leading to immediate evacuation of both staff and visitors. Bomb disposal and dog squads arrived at the scene and began a thorough inspection. Due to summer working hours (8 AM to 1 PM), most staff were already scheduled to leave early and were sent home as a precautionary measure.
Superintendent of Police M. Puttamadaiah confirmed the receipt of the email and stated that a police team is actively investigating the situation at the site.
