A man was rescued from the Krishna River after allegedly being pushed in by his wife during a photo-taking session. The incident took place near the Gurjapur Bridge-cum-Barrage in Karnataka’s Raichur district.
According to the eyewitnesses, they heard the man’s desperate cries for help from a rock in the middle of the river. He was heard screaming, “Save me, bro! Catch her! Call someone!”
A video of the incident shows the woman telling onlookers, “I didn’t push him. We were taking photos, and he slipped into the river.”
The man has been identified as a resident of Shakti Nagar in Raichur, while the woman is from Vadagera taluk in Yadgir. The two were reportedly travelling together on the Gurjapur Bridge-cum-Barrage when they stopped to take photos on rocky outcrops near the Krishna River.
The man claimed his wife pushed him into the water mid-photo session. His frantic cries for help drew immediate attention, and he was rescued by alert passersby — including Bolero drivers and dam workers — with locals using a rope to haul him out of the river.
After the dramatic rescue, the couple was seen leaving the scene together on their motorcycle. The wife, however, denied the accusations, maintaining that it was an accident and he had slipped into the river.
As of now, no formal complaint has been lodged in connection with the incident.
