Raichur: Deputy commissioner Nitish K urged that the airport construction work in Raichur be expedited and completed soon. He spoke after visiting the proposed site of the airport construction on the Yaramaras outskirts in Raichur and inspecting the work on Saturday. While inspecting the progress update on airport construction and infrastructure works, he instructed that the proposed runway, CRF building, ATC building, and all works outlined in the master plan should be completed within the stipulated timeframe. Currently, the 2.5 km-long airport runway was completed, and concrete was being laid. The station’s compound wall work was 70% complete. The foundation footing for the passenger terminal building was complete. The construction of the CFR building was also complete. Officials informed that the installation of ESS was 90% complete. Executive engineer of public works department Venkatesh, assistant executive engineer Mahesh Kumar, airport engineer Praveen, and engineers of the concerned contractors were present.
