Cotton to be procured till Dec. 31 in Raichur

Spread the News

Raichur Deputy Commissioner Nitish K. has said that the last date for cotton procurement under the minimum support price scheme for 2025-26 through cotton procurement centres in Raichur district is December 31.

Farmers can register their names on the Kapas Kisan mobile application which is available in Google Play Store, providing their details.

They can themselves choose a nearby or any procurement centre, date and time while registering and bring their produce to such a centre for sale, he added.

Addressing a meeting with farmers in Raichur on Monday, Mr. Nitish said that the Cotton Corporation of India has set up eight procurement centres, five in Deodurg taluk and one each in Manvi, Sindhanur and Sirwar taluks, where all arrangements have been made for farmers to conveniently sell cotton.

A technical problem that arose after a high number of farmers began registering at the same time has been solved. Farmers shouldn’t panic, as authorities will procure cotton from all registered farmers, despite there being a limit to purchase only 15,000 quintals a day, he said.

The Deputy Commissioner expressed the hope of getting a nod from the State government to open procurement centres for red gram very soon.

Farmers leaders and officers were present.
