Observing that the New Year ushered in positive vibes for the people ‘in the wake of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP)’s debacle’, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said that the ruling coalition of the TDP, the Jana Sena Party (JSP) and the BJP has earned the confidence of the masses and that it is prepared to mend its ways depending on how people want the government to function.
“The officials, who acted as per the whims and fancies of the YSRCP in the last five years, need to change their ways. Fulfilling the people’s aspirations is the priority. The MLAs should do their best and refrain from committing impropriety,” the Chief Minister said during a brief interaction with the media at the TDP’s central office near Mangalagiri in Guntur district on January 1, Wednesday.
Mr. Naidu said forces inimical to the society would not be spared, be it anti-social elements fomenting religious disharmony or those making people’s lives miserable through illegal activities. The government would sternly deal with them, lest law and order should break down.
He asserted that the consequences of behaving like his predecessor Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would be devastating for the State.
Further, Mr. Naidu said the government was sparing no effort in developing the capital in Amaravati and assured that the results would be seen sooner than later.
“Steps are being taken to develop all districts with equal priority. Amaravati was tied up in knots due to the three capitals idea of Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy and the Polavaram project had come to a grinding halt. These were major problems created by the YSRCP government,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that the government was committed to empowering the Backward Classes, which was evident from the elevation of Special Chief Secretary (energy) K. Vijayanand as the Chief Secretary.
Mr. Naidu said Hyderabad emerged as a hub for the Telugu film industry due to the facilities provided by the previous TDP governments and that the overseas market for Telugu films expanded by leaps and bounds. “Amaravati will slowly but steadily turn out to be a destination for Tollywood,” he opined.
