Director General of Police (DGP) Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao emphasised on police using technology to prevent crime in the State.
The DGP held separate review meetings with the police officials of Kurnool and Nandyal districts on Wednesday. Speaking to media, Mr. Tirumala Rao asked police officials to give priority to visible policing and to prevent cybercrimes.
The DGP wanted officials to form special teams to investigate sexual crime against minors and women. He wanted the them to conduct investigations with less manpower and more of scientific technology.
Mr Tirumala Rao said that there has been a decrease in the number of cases in the State and asked officials to take necessary steps to prevent crime. He added that they are using drones and CCTV cameras to maintain law and order, and have also strengthened the fingerprints unit to investigate cases.
