Dharwad: Prof Suyameendra Kulkarni of Dharwad has been appointed as the acting vice-chancellor of Raichur University. Governor and chancellor of the universities in Karnataka Thaawar Chand Gehlot has issued the appointment of Prof Suyameendra.
Prof Suyameendra, who was serving as the professor of microbiology, and dean, faculty of science at Raichur University assumed charge on Saturday.Professor Harish Ramswamy whose term ended as vice-chancellor on Saturday handed over charge to Prof Suyameendra. A product of Karnatak University, Prof Suyameendra.has also served as a scientist at Karnataka Institute of DNA Research (KIDNAR) at Dharwad.
