In 2023, Aaradhya Bachchan, daughter of Bollywood actors Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, approached the Delhi High Court seeking action against YouTube channels and other websites that spread false reports about her health. The court ruled in her favour, ordering the removal of misleading content and warning against the circulation of unverified news about minors. It also granted an interim injunction, restraining the defendants from posting misleading information and stated that circulating information about a child’s physical or mental health is unlawful.
The Delhi High Court on Monday sought a response to her application, seeking a summary judgment in her lawsuit. Justice Mini Pushkarna heard the counsel representing Bachchan and issued notices to the defendants, including Google and several websites. The matter is scheduled for the next hearing on March 17.
