It seems Ranveer Allahbadia is not getting relief anytime soon for his bad joke at India’s Got Latent, which made him land in a legal trouble. As per latest report, Maharashtra Cyber Cell is likely to take legal action against Ranveer.
The cyber cell had issued summons to Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Ranveer Allahbadia, and Apoorva Mukhija for questioning, as per India TV. While Samay and Ashish appeared for questioning, Allahbadia and Mukhija didn’t respond.
So, Maharashtra Cyber Cell has now accused them of lack of cooperation and is likely to take legal action against them.
“Would you rather watch your parents have s*x every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?” was the question Ranveer Allahbadia posed to a contestant. And as expected, social media users had reactions.
Recently, the Centre aka Information and Broadcasting Ministry has warned Social media channels and OTT websites to follow the Code of Ethics prescribed in the IT Rules (2021) and ensure self-regularisation critically to implement ‘access control’ on ‘18+ content’ so that children could avoid inappropriate content.
The notification from the Centre said that it had received the complaint about the “spread of obscene, pornographic, and vulgar content by certain publishers of online curated content (OTT platforms) and social media”.
Apart from netizens, Allahbadia was slammed by the Supreme Court for his crass joke. “Such behaviour has to be condemned. Just because you are popular, you cannot take society for granted. Is there anyone on earth who would like this language? There is something very dirty in his mind which has been vomited. Why should we protect him,” the court said, according to Bar and Bench.
