Ranveer Allahbadia has been garnering immense criticism for his lewd comment on Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent. In the latest episode, the YouTuber asked one of the contestants, “Would you watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join once to stop it forever?”

This comment left everyone shocked and disappointed and later sparked outrage on social media. However, back in 2015, comedian Kanan Gill also asked actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani the same question, when he was promoting his film Welcome To Karachi along with Lauren Gottlieb.

In the clip, Kannan is seen asking Jackky, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your lives or join in once and stop it?” While this question left everyone in splits, the comedian insisted that he must answer. “You have to answer, guys,” Gill said.

Recently, it was reported that
Ranveer copied this joke on India’s Got Latent. There’s a show in the West called Truth Or Drink in which the host Sammy Walsh asks the same question to comedian Alan Fang_._ The joke was about watching your parents have sex and joining them to stop it completely.

After the backlash, Ranveer shared a video apologising for his joke and said, “My comment wasn’t inappropriate; comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry. Many asked, Is this how I use the platform? to which he stated, ‘Obviously, this is not how I wish to use it. I am not going to give any context or justification or reasoning behind whatever happened; I am just here for the apology,” he wrote. “I personally had a lapse, and judgment wasn’t cool on my path. The podcast is watched by people of all ages. I don’t want to be the person that takes that responsibility lightly, and family is the last thing that I would disrespect.”

“Need to use this platform better; that’s been my learning from this whole experience. I promised to just get better; I have asked the makers to remove the insensitive sections from the video, and all I can say in the end is, Sorry, I hope you can forgive me as a human being,” he added.
