Chaava box office: Vicky Kaushal starrer beats Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan & Yash’s KGF 2

Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna starrer Chhaava is unstoppable at the box office. After a humongous opening weekend, the biographical period war drama has continued its dominance on the weekdays.

As per early estimates,
Chhaava raked in around Rs 25 crore yesterday and now stands with a total collection of approximately Rs 170 crore. With this, it has beaten the first Tuesday collections of biggies like Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan (Rs crore) and Yash’s KGF 2 Hindi (Rs 19.12 crore).

On the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Jayanti, Chhaava is expected to do fantastic business today and enter Rs 200 crore at the box office.

Despite the arrival of Arjun Kapoor’s Mere Husband Ki Biwi this Friday, Chhaava is expected to be the first choice for cinegoers, which will help the movie to cruise past Rs 300 crore emerging as Vicky Kaushal’s highest grosser as the lead actor.

Talking about Chhaava, the film is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It is adapted from Shivaji Sawant’s book of the same name. Directed by Laxman Utekar of Luka Chuppi and Mimi fame, the biographical war period drama also features Diana Penty, Ashutosh Rana, Vineet Kumar Singh, Divya Dutta, Kiran Karmarkar, Sarang Sathaye, Suvrat Joshi, Ankit Anil Sharma, Shubhankar Ekbote, Shivraj Walvekar, Akshay Anand Kohli, Rakesh Theraja and Neil Bhoopalam among others. It marks the second collaboration between Laxman, Vicky and producer Dinesh Vijan after Zara Hatke Zara Bachke.

The music of the film is composed by AR Rahman while the camera is cranked by Saurabh Goswami. The impeccable dialogues of Chhaava are written by Rishi Virmani.
