Eid 2025 is expected to be a blockbuster weekend at the box office as two biggies in the form of the Salman Khan starrer Sikandar and Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan are arriving at the ticket windows.
While Prithviraj Sukumaran’s pan-India directorial is releasing tomorrow (27th March), AR Murugadoss’ massy-actioner will hit the screens on Sunday (30th March). Talking about the mega-clash, Sukumaran said there is ’no competition’ between the two films.
“
Salman Khan is one of the biggest stars in the country, and there is no competition between the two movies. I hope it becomes a blockbuster,” said Prithviraj at a recent press conference in Delhi. “I will have no complaints if you watch L2: Empuraan at 11 a.m. and Sikandar at 1 p.m.,” he added.
Recently, a publication asked ARM that ‘Ghajini’ had a strong emotional core apart from action. Will ‘Sikandar’ have similar depth?, the director replied, “Yeah, definitely. This is not only a mass film; it has very strong family emotions. ‘Ghajini’ was about a boyfriend-girlfriend love story, but this is about a husband-wife relationship. It explores how families function today, how couples treat each other, and what we might be missing in our relationships. That will be a highlight of the film. Though ‘Ghajini’ seemed to be a physco thriller to the audience, the love story of Aamir and Asin was the surprise element. Similarly, here there’s an element of love which will move the audience.”
Further, he shared what makes Sikandar special and said, “It will be a significant film in Salman sir’s career. It’s not just an Eid entertainer-it has a mix of action, emotion, and mass appeal that will connect with audiences of all backgrounds. We’ve made a film that everyone, from hardcore Salman fans to family audiences, will enjoy.”
