In her recently released documentary,
Nayanthara recalled those moments and said, “In the papers, there would be a piece of news about me, and I wouldn’t even be aware of what happened. Most of the time, that’s the case. And every day, for my mom and my dad to see that and to go through that whole thing was extremely difficult. And I would sit and cry the whole day. I wouldn’t eat anything. I would just lock myself in my room and cry. All this was very difficult for my mom to take it.”
She continued, “There were so many people who would call my mom and say that, ‘You should do something about your daughter. You should get her married. You should figure out her life because it’s all done. She is finished. Some would say, ‘Take care of her properly, make sure she doesn’t get into trouble.’”
“It’s okay to make mistakes and to have that regret in your life that, ‘At this point, if I had not believed this person, I would have saved a few years in my life.’ But I feel that’s okay. There are only two options. Either your lose it, and completely destroy your life and cry about it. Or, just get up and make sure the people who treated you badly feel miserable about themselves, looking at your success,” she concluded.
