Aishwarya Rai revealed about her mother Brindya Rai’s battle with cancer last year and now, actress’ sister-in-law Shrima Rai opened up about the same on her official Instagram handle.

Giving a shoutout to Brindya for taking care of her kids so she could take a break,
Shrima shared a picture with her mom-in-law with a crown emoji placed on her head and wrote, “A big shoutout to my MIL for all the support and love and babysitting the kids while I went on my getaway. While she underwent cancer, I refrained from posting her too much because she wasn’t looking her best, and I respect her privacy.”

At a special event organised by GSB Seva Mandal for cancer patients, Aishwarya revealed her mother’s battle with cancer and said, “Okay, I don’t know if I should be saying this, but Cancer has touched our lives personally. First, it was my dad and my mum got it earlier this year but she has come out of it, with the support of so many incredible doctors and a lot of love and blessings from everyone.”

Shrima recently grabbed headlines for sharing pics of a bouquet sent by Nikhil Nanda and Shweta Bachchan Nanda on her birthday amid Aishwarya Rai-Abhishek Bachchan divorce rumours. While she garnered criticism for her gesture, slamming trolls, she wrote, “Facts: My birthday was November 21 and as usual flowers were sent. I thanks everyone with a shout out. Before I became a blogger/content creator, I was a banker in Wealth Management for several years. I have also been a Gladrags Mrs India Globe 2009. Post 2017, I transitioned into blogging. I have NEVER tried to open any business with anyone’s name.”

“I am clarifying things because these are facts. I have built an independent career as a content creator for years on my own and as a woman, I find it in poor taste of anyone to try to tear that fact down. For this my husband, mother-in-law and parents can vouch for that. As a mother, it is extremely important to me that facts are clear when my name is involved,” she added.
