The AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Wednesday announced the appointment of 47 regional point persons to receive applications from aspirants for the post of office bearers in the Anna Thozhirsanga Peravai (ATP), the party’s labour wing.
The point persons, who would cover 15 regions. included 12 former Ministers. The applications could be submitted during December 27-29, according to a release of the party.
In a post on his social media handle, the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) T.T. V. Dhinakaran expressed his concerns over an incident of petrol bomb throwing in Tirunelveli district which had only characterised the “breakdown of law and order.” He called upon the police and the State government to bring the guilty to book and ensure that no such incident recurred.
