The All-India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) has mourned the death of Muzaffar Assadi who, it said, had upheld the ideals of scientific, secular and democratic education.
Prof. Assadi, political analyst and writer, who served as the acting Vice-Chancellor of University of Mysore in 2022 and retired from service, was actively involved in numerous social welfare activities with deep social concern.
He had authored 11 books, including Bahuroopi Strivada Kathana, Chaluvali, Asmita, Rajakarana, and Moolabhutavada, the organisation said.
AIDSO district secretary, Nithin, said Prof. Assadi was one of the well-wishers of AIDSO’s 10th All-India Students’ Conference, which aimed to ‘Save Education, Humanity and Culture’. The scholar firmly believed that education should be secular, scientific, and democratic and accessible to all, he said.
Prof. Assadi’s demise was extremely saddening and an irreplaceable loss.
