The Army Flag Day was celebrated with great reverence at the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre on Saturday. The event showcased the enduring bond between serving personnel and veterans, underscoring the Army’s commitment to honouring its heroes and their sacrifices for the nation.

Observed every year on December 7, the Army Flag Day is a tribute to the bravery, sacrifices, and dedication of the Indian Armed Forces. The day serves as a reminder of the invaluable contributions of veteran soldiers and their families, fostering a sense of unity and gratitude among citizens.

A solemn Wreath Laying Ceremony was conducted by the veterans and Brigadier Joydip Mukherjee, Station Commander, on behalf of all ranks of the station at the Sharqat War Memorial to honour the heroes who laid down their lives for the country. The poignant event was attended by serving personnel and veterans.

The Indian Army continues its proud tradition of remembering and honouring the sacrifices of its soldiers reiterating the ethos of placing the nation above self and preserving the spirit of service and dedication, said a release.
