Call for collective efforts to empower differently-abled persons

Collector Pamela Satpathy has called upon physically-challenged persons to strive with self-confidence, effectively utilise all available opportunities and realise their full potential.

She was speaking at a meeting held on the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities at the Collectorate in Karimnagar on Tuesday. She called for collective efforts to empower the differently-abled persons to help them achieve their full potential and lead a fulfilled life. Satavahana Urban Development Authority (SUDA) chairman Komatireddy Narender Reddy, Additional Collector (Local Bodies) Praful Desai and others spoke. Child Welfare Committee (CEC) chairperson Dhanalakshmi, in-charge District Welfare Officer Sabitha and others were present.

Several differently-abled persons including children staged a cultural programme showcasing their creative talents on the occasion. Earlier, the Collector distributed shoes and socks to the students of the government residential school for visually impaired at Rekurthi in Karimnagar.
