CII conclave sheds light on innovation and entrepreneurship in Tirupati

Speakers at the ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship’ conclave organised by the Andhra Pradesh unit of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) recalled the State’s pioneering role in promoting innovation in the country to foster growth and development.

Speaking at the first edition of the conclave in Tirupati on Friday, Indian Institute of Technolog Tirupati (IIT-T) Director K.N. Satyanarayana emphasised the critical role of academia in driving innovation. “Institutes of higher learning have a pivotal role in creating knowledge-driven collaborations,” he said, stressing the signficance of startups.

CII AP Chairman V. Muralikrishna recalled that Andhra Pradesh had set an example of innovation, leveraging its talent and resources. CII Tirupati zone Chairman Pusuhpit Garg cited collaboration and creativity as key to new business models and termed innovation and entrepreneurship as the ‘twin engines’ driving economic growth.

CII Past Chairman Vijay Naidu Galla, NRDC Senior Regional Manager Bijay Kumar Sahu found Tirupati a burgeoning market for knowledge-driven economic activities. Digital Technology Consultant Sunil David highlighted that 38% of people lack access to digital technology and stressed on expansion in this domain.

Technology Companies Association of Andhra Pradesh (TCOAP) president Vamsi Krishna Rayala pointed to the presence of over fifty IT companies and over ten MNCs in Tirupati to underscore the region’s potential to contribute more to the State’s GDP.
