The Association of Civil Consulting Engineers (ACCE), Dharwad, in association with SDM College of Engineering and Technology (SDMCET) and Turbo Steels, will hold a two-day Civitech Summit in Dharwad starting Saturday.
President of ACCE Dharwad Sunil Bagewadi told presspersons here on Thursday that the summit is being organised with the objective of enhancing civil engineering skills among budding and professional engineers and to help them get hands-on information on newer technology, including AI in civil engineering.
He said that actor and screenwriter Ramesh Arvind will inaugurate the summit on Saturday at 10.30 a.m., while MLA Arvind Bellad will be the chief guest.
CMD of ERM Group Praveen Chandra, Hubballi Dharwad Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar and Municipal Commissioner Rudresh Ghali will be the other guests.
Mr. Bagewadi said that resource persons from across the country will be delivering special talks on new age civil engineering and on the use of Artificial Intelligence in civil engineering.
Chairman of the summit Vijay Totiger said that during the summit, steel structure design, building condition assessment, evaluation and repair strategies, foundations on difficult soils, learning from structure failure, AI in infrastructure and construction, sustainable building practices, among others, will be deliberated upon.
Principal of SDMCET Ramesh Chakrasali said that the summit will cover various topics that are relevant for budding engineers.
Over 500 students from various engineering colleges of the region will participate in the event, he said.
