The T. Abdul Wahid (TAW) College for Women organised inaugural college day celebrations at its campus near Ambur here on Saturday.
According to a press release, T. Arumugam, Vice-Chancellor, Thiruvalluvar University, who was the chief guest, emphasised the role of women’s education in shaping a progressive society.
He urged students to pursue academic excellence, and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
He also highlighted the growing opportunities for women in various fields, and the importance of empowering them through quality education.
Principal Shanaz Ahamed presented the college annual report in the presence of chairman T. Rafeeq Ahmed. She outlined the institution’s various academic programmes, achievements, and milestones.
She also highlighted the college’s outstanding performance in the university examinations, attributing the success to the dedicated efforts of the staff and students, the release said.
