A.M. Jain College felicitated Parai performer Velu Aasaan, who was honoured with Padma Shri recently for traditional arts.
The college’s School of Media Studies organised an interactive session with Mr. Velu Aasaan. He told the students, “While contemporary discourse often confines visual communication to the realms of graphics, photography, and animation, we must remember that the foundation of visual expression lies in the performing arts.”
College secretary Udhan Kumar Chordia said the college had always championed cultural expression. Mr. Velu Aasaan’s remarkable journey exemplified the power of visual storytelling through music and performance, he said.
Hemant P. Chordia, Associate Secretary, B. Mahavir, Principal, besides senior staff of the college participated.
