DA of Kerala govt. staff increased from 12% to 15%

The Kerala government has increased the rate of dearness allowances (DA) of its employees and dearness relief to State service pensioners and family pensioners from the existing 12% to 15% with effect from April 2025. The hike would be applied to government employees, teachers, staff of aided schools, private colleges and polytechnics, full time contingent employees and employees of local governments, and the dearness relief payable to State service pensioners, family pensioners, ex-gratia pensioners and ex-gratia family pensioners, said the government order. The enhanced dearness allowance and dearness relief shall be drawn along with the salary and pension due from the month of April 2025, i.e. the salary and pension disbursed from May 2025 onwards, said the order. The rates of DA for teaching staff coming under UGC, AICTE and Medical Education schemes who had changed over to the revised scale from January 1, 2016 and since then will be enhanced from 34% to 38%. The DA for those teaching staff continuing in the sixth UGC, AICTE and Medical Education scale from January 1, 2006, and since then will be enhanced from the existing 203% to 212%.
