A 45-year-old head constable attached to the District Armed Reserved (DAR) police has been accused of sexually abusing his two minor sons in Kalaburagi.
According to a complaint lodged by the constable’s wife at University Police Station, the accused, a resident of Sri Nagar area in Kalaburagi, continuously abused his two sons, aged 16 and 12.
She accused her husband of beating both their sons with a leather belt and iron rods, lathi and hammer and forcibly touching their private parts. The accused also restrained both their sons from attending school.
The incident came to light when the victims contacted Childline India (1098) on November 30.
She said that though she made several attempts for a month to get her complaint registered, it was not done by the police.
The complainant mentioned that there is a threat to her life as her accused husband, being a police officer, may misuse his power in any possible form to harass them (his wife and sons).
