A day after bodies of a man and woman were found on the Khajaguda hillocks, the murder remains a mystery. The deceased were identified as Bindu, 25, a mother of two who resided in Vanasthalipuram and was a native of Chhattisgarh and Ankit Saket, 25, a resident of Nanakramguda and native of Madhya Pradesh.
Investigation revealed that the two knew each other. “On January 8, Ankit bought Bindu from LB Nagar to Nanakramguda and accommodated her at his friend’s place,” said Rajendranagar DCP Ch Srinivas. During the investigation, the police also found that Bindu had been missing since January 3 and a missing case had also been registered.
On Tuesday (January 14), the bodies were found 60 metres apart in an open land near the Ananta Padmanabha Swamy temple on the hillock. Police suspect that the woman was sexually assaulted before she was killed and their faces were smashed with boulders in an attempt to destroy their identities.
The police have detained Ankit’s friend for questioning, while the samples collected by the Clues team have also been sent for analysis at the State Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). Further investigation is under way to analyse the series of events between January 8 and 14 that led to the murders and nab the assailant.
