RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM

A local court has awarded two-year jail term to four persons in an attempt to murder case registered in the III Town police station in Rajamahendravaram city in March 2021. The court also imposed a fine of ₹500 on each of them.

The convicts, K. Premkumar, M. Tirumala Prasad, Veedhi Nani and U. Arjun, hail from the city.

According to a release issued by East Godavari SP D. Narasimha Kishore, the convicts had stolen two mobile phones from the complainants, Talari Ramana and Talari Ramanna Dora, who were on a night halt at Pushkar Ghat, and threatened to kill the victims if they raised an alarm.

The duo from G. Madugula mandal in the erstwhile Visakhapatnam district came to the ghat to perform some funeral rituals.
