Green mobility platform to expand electric auto-rickshaw fleet, employ more women drivers in Tiruchi

OOR Cabs, a green mobility platform, is planning to employ 250 women from various walks of life in Tiruchi as driver partners in its autorickshaw segment over the next six months.

In a press release, Maria Isaac, founder and chief executive officer, OOR Cabs, said the company had delivered 3.5 lakh km of eco-friendly rides in Tiruchi since its launch last year.

Over 500 electric autorickshaws will be added to the company’s fleet in Tiruchi, according to the release. Plans to establish solar-powered charging stations for the electric vehicles are in the pipeline. The expansion for Tiruchi is expected to have a budget layout of ₹30 crore.
