HYDERABAD
BJP Legislature Party Floor leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy has demanded that the State government immediately hand over the 400 acres of Kancha Gachibowli land to the University of Hyderabad (UoH) and develop an eco-park on the same land, ensuring the required funds are allocated.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, the BJP MLA accused the Congress government of conspiring to sell the land at an undervalued price. “Why was the land price, which was fixed at ₹75 crore per acre initially, lowered to ₹52 crore? Whom are you going to benefit through this undervaluation?” he asked.
Finding fault with the Congress government for paying ₹17 crore towards commission to an agency that helped the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIISC) raise bonds worth ₹9,995 crore, he said, “Sridhar Babu says that BRS too paid ₹10 crore towards commission or professional fee during their regime. But it’s not correct to pay the commission; it is like a bribe.”
He also asked why the Congress government is not taking any action to recover the commission paid by the BRS government during its regime.
Stating that the government is attempting to raise loans, he said, “Mr. Sridhar Babu is talking cleverly, but it’s clear that they had mortgaged the land and raised loans to avoid falling under the FRBM purview.” Mr. Reddy alleged that there was a secret pact between the ruling Congress party and BRS and demanded that the latter disclose the name of the BJP MP who helped the government raise funds.
