HYDRAA clears encroachments on government lands in Hafeezpet, Raidurgam

Spread the News

The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) removed encroachments on government lands, reclaiming property worth hundreds of crores of rupees in Hafeezpet and Raidurgam areas. The operation uncovered illegal construction activities, including the establishment of residential complexes and unauthorised commercial developments on prime government land.

The operation focused on Survey Number 79 in Hafeezpet, located within the Serilingampally Municipality in Kondapur, where more than 19 acres had already been illegally developed by Vasanta Homes Company. The company had misled authorities by creating a fake survey number 79/1 and carried out construction work on this land, which is registered in the revenue records as ‘prohibited’. Despite a pending case in the Supreme Court, the company continued to build and sell homes on the land, constructing a commercial office and several sheds on the remaining 20 acres, which were rented out to various organisations.

HYDRAA officials dismantled the illegal constructions and removed the fencing that had been put up by the encroachers, putting up boards marking the land as government property. This action came after the Supreme Court expressed concern over the continuing construction despite a lack of final decrees in the case, questioning how the work was allowed to proceed in defiance of court orders.

Narne Estates Raidurgam

A second operation was carried out in Raidurgam following a complaint from a local youth, who reported that he and other cricket players were being denied access to their usual playing field. The encroachers had started constructing roads and damaging a nearby pond. HYDRAA investigations revealed that Narne Estates, a private company, had placed boards advertising land for sale, falsely claiming ownership of the area. The encroachers were also found constructing unauthorised layouts and selling plots, including land that had been encroached from the pond, according to a HYDRAA official.

The agency has filed police complaints in both the cases. Further investigations are underway.
