K-Smart, the State government’s project to make available services of local self-government institutions on a uniform platform, is set to be expanded to the three-tier panchayats, Minister for Local Self-Government M.B. Rajesh has said.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Mr. Rajesh said that with the expansion of K-Smart to panchayats as well, all services of local body institutions will be available online. K-Smart (Kerala Solutions for Managing Administrative Reformation and Transformation) has been developed by the Information Kerala Mission for smooth digital access to services of local body institutions.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate a function to mark the deployment of K-Smart in panchayats at Udaya Palace Convention Centre in Thiruvananthapuram at 10.30 a.m. on Thursday. Thus, 941 panchayats, 152 block panchayats, and 14 district panchayats will also be covered by K-Smart along with six Corporations and 87 municipalities, Mr. Rajesh said.
The pilot launch of K-Smart as a prelude to the deployment of the application in panchayats started at the Karakulam grama panchayat in Thiruvananthapuram, Thiruvananthapuram district panchayat and block panchayat on January 1, 2025.
