NITI Aayog has sanctioned a cash award of ₹3 crore to Kadapa district under the aspirational district programme. District Collector Cherukuri Sridhar said the sanction was in recognition of the district’s excellent performance recorded till February 2025.
Kadapa is one of the 36 aspirational districts from among the 112 in India that have received the incentive.
The award acknowledged the strides made by the district in enhancing financial literacy, expanding banking access, encouraging digital transactions and implementing government schemes, thus ushering in a social change, the District Collector said.
The amount would be utilised towards for job creation, encouraging startups and strengthening the innovation ecosystem in the district, Mr. Sridhar said.
