The Kochi metro services from the terminal station in Aluva to the city were affected for 10 minutes from 8.35 a.m. to 8.45 a.m. on Monday due to a technical snag in a train and the signalling system, it is learnt.
The delay left hundreds of passengers, mainly office-goers and students, stranded at stations in the corridor for over 10 minutes, until the services were restored. More and more people have been depending on the metro to commute to the city and back owing to its reliability and convenience and also due to traffic hold-ups in the city and at congested junctions like Kalamassery and Edappally on NH 66.
Trains from the city towards Aluva operated as scheduled during this time span, sources said.
