The ‘Maha Samprokshanam’ ritual at the famed Sri Kodandarama temple at Vontimitta in Kadapa district will be held from March 5 to 9. It is mandatory for the ritualistic throwing open of the temple for the public after taking up repair and restoration work, which is currently under way at the ancient shrine.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Joint Executive Officer V. Veerabrahmam conducted a review meeting with the officials concerned on Tuesday.
It may be recalled that the renovation works began in September 2024 after conducting ‘Balalayam’ ritual. The restoration work is carried out by the TTD under the supervision of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), which manages the heritage structure.
“After the Maha Samprokshanam, the devotees will be allowed to have darshan of the presiding deity,” Mr. Veerabrahmam said.
The official also announced a review soon with the Kadapa district administration in connection with the annual Brahmotsavam scheduled to be held soon. He later inspected the arrangements at the ‘Kalyana Vedika’, where the famous annual ‘Sita Rama Kalyanam’ will be observed as a state festival.
