Security personnel at Kempegowda International Airport caught a private firm employee entering the premises with a fake ticket on Sunday.
The accused, Syed Abdul Subhan, 33, a resident of Bharati Nagar, managed to enter Terminal 2 with the forged ticket to board a flight to Jeddah. He did not board the flight but tried to exit using the same ticket. The security officials who checked his credentials alerted the airline staff who confirmed that he was using a fabricated ticket and arrested him.
Subhan was later handed over to the airport police who registered a case, charging him under Sections 336 (Forgery) and 340 (Fraudulently or Dishonestly uses as Genuine any Document or Electronic Record) under BNS.
The police are investigating further to ascertain his motive.
