A 57-year-old man was hacked to death at Varkala on Thursday evening.
The victim was identified as Sunil Dutt, from Karunilakode. His sister Ushakumari, who sustained injuries to her head in the attack, has been admitted to the Paripally Medical College.
The attack was allegedly carried out by Ushakumari’s estranged husband and his friends. Ushakumari and her husband had been estranged for some time, and a dispute arising from the situation had allegedly led to the attack.
