Man stabs nurse for spurning him, arrested

A man allegedly stabbed his former female friend, a nurse, on January 12, for spurning him. He was arrested on Thursday.

The victim sustained multiple minor injuries and was treated at a hospital and discharged. 

According to the police, Pooja, 23, working as a nurse at a private hospital and Ajay, 29, working as a security supervisor at another hospital, were in a relationship for a few years and had decided to get married. However, they broke up recently.

But Ajay allegedly continued to stalk Pooja pestering her to restart the relationship, the police said.

On January 12 evening, when she was walking home near Binnypet, Ajay waylaid her on the road demanding the same. But when Pooja refused, he allegedly stabbed her multiple times on her hands and legs and fled from the scene. .
