Maternal deaths: BJP Mahila Morcha seek Minister’s resignation

Members of BJP Mahila Morcha, Mysuru on Wednesday staged a demonstration outside the Zilla Panchayat office here in protest against a series of maternal deaths in the government hospitals.

They also demanded the resignation of Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dinesh Gundu Rao for the alleged failure in stopping the deaths.

While lashing out against the State government for its failure to stop the maternal deaths in the State, the protestors raised slogans against the government and demanded the Minister’s resignation, alleging “negligence” in handling the cases in the government hospitals.

Demanding a detailed investigation into the deaths, the morcha members blamed the government for not taking stringent measures in stopping the deaths.
