Human Resources Development (HRD) Minister Nara Lokesh has informed the Andhra Pradesh Assembly that the State government would conduct a Mega DSC to recruit 16,347 teachers.
Replying to a question raised by YSRCP MLAs Tatiparthi Chandra Sekhar and others on Monday, the Minister said that a notification would be issued shortly to fill the posts.
Mr. Lokesh replied to the question even though the YSRCP MLAs were not present in the House. When the Minister sought the Chair’s permission to give a reply, Deputy Speaker K. Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, who was in the chair, said that the MLAs were not present.
Mr. Lokesh said even though the YSRCP members were absent, he would still provide an answer. In a lighthearted moment, the Deputy Speaker remarked that the YSRCP members could watch the response on TV. Mr. Lokesh humorously responded, “If they do that, the TVs will break.”
Earlier, replying to a question raised by Pusapati Aditi Vijayalakshmi Gajapati Raju, Miriyala Sirisha Devi, Bandaru Sravani Sree, Palle Sindhura Reddy and others on construction of compound walls to schools in the State, the HRD Minister said, “It will cost ₹3,000 crore to complete the construction of compound walls for schools across the State.”
‘’Under the slogan ‘Our School, Our Future,’ we will take measures to build them in phases through the Employment Guarantee Scheme. The government also launched the ‘Say No to Drugs, Bro’ campaign, and we are establishing ‘Eagle’ teams in every school and college. We are planning to provide basic amenities based on the star rating given at parent-teacher meetings,” he said.
Flays YSRCP govt.’s G.O.
Mr. Lokesh criticised the previous YSRCP government, stating that with G.O. 117, they distanced education from the poor, leading to 1.2 million students being deprived of it. “We have decided to discuss an alternative solution with the members,” he said.
“We are providing basic amenities in 80 schools in the Rampachodavaram constituency. We will install CCTV cameras and lighting at schools. Under the ‘Learning Extension of A.P.’ we plan to bring in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds for development,” Mr. Lokesh added.
