Renowned musicians will pay musical tribute to the doyen of Hindustani classical music and Bharat Ratna late Pandit Bhimsen Joshi during a Swara Samrat programme scheduled in Hubballi on Saturday.
Addressing presspersons in Hubballi on Wednesday, president of Kshamata Samsthe Govind Joshi said that the music programme is being organised in association with Gangubai Sangeet Vidyalaya and various public sector and private companies.
He said that during the event renowned musicians Pt. Sanjeev Abhyankar (Pune), Pt. Kaivalya Kumar (Dharwad) and Pt. Venkatesh Kumar (Dharwad) will pay musical tribute to Pt. Bhimsen Joshi.
Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi will be the chief guest for the inaugural function.
The event will begin at Sawai Gandharva Hall in Deshpande Nagar of Hubballi on Saturday at 4.30 p.m.
President of Gangubai Sangeet Vidyalaya Vaishnavi Hangal and secretary Vinay Nayak gave details of the accompanying artistes performing during the event.
Entry to the programme is free.
