Five passengers, including a child, were trapped inside a lift at Kannur railway station for nearly an hour on Monday (March 24) due to a technical fault. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. at the lift on the third platform.
The stranded passengers were scheduled to board the Vande Bharat Express. Upon learning about the situation, railway officials briefly halted the train at Kannur station for approximately 10 minutes. However, since the rescue operation took longer than expected, the train was eventually allowed to proceed.
After an hour-long effort, the passengers were safely rescued from the lift. Railway authorities then arranged for them to continue their journey on the Kannur Express.
