The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has alleged that the police are foisting cases against its party leaders on the instruction of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for making social media posts on the ongoing controversy over the Kancha Ganchibowli lands.
BRS leaders R.S. Praveen Kumar and Ch. Rakesh Kumar said a plainsclothes police officer had come to Telangana Bhavan, the party office, on Friday to serve notices on former director communications Dileep Konatham and on Manne Krishnak. He wondered why the police had come from Nirmal when the social media posts pertained to Hyderabad.
The increasing number of atrocities against women indicates that there is no protection for women in the State. The incidents of molestation of a woman passenger in the MMTS train to Medchal and similar incidents at Kandi, Nagarkurnool and of a German woman at Pahadi Shareef during the last one week, indicate that they were not common.
He stated that the previous BRS government had formed 331 SHE teams, installed 11 lakh closed-circuit television cameras and spent ₹770 crore on the modernisation of the police force. But, now the police were not responding to calls made on dial 100.
