Employees of State Bank of India, Local Head Office, contributed an amount of ā¹37,16,500 towards Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. Chief General Manager, SBI, Rajesh Kumar on Tuesday handed over the cheque to Governor Jishnu Dev Varma in the presence of Director (Sainik Welfare, Telangana) Colonel Ramesh Kumar (Retd) and the bankās senior officials.
Appreciating SBIās gesture, Mr. Jishnu Dev Varma said the contribution for a noble cause will be an inspiration for other organisations to emulate. He also remembered the long-standing contribution of the bank for the welfare of the ex-servicemen and their dependents.
Mr. Rajesh Kumar stated that SBI has always been at the forefront in supporting the soldiers and the citizens at large. The bank has a host of schemes specially designed to cater to the specific needs of the serving and retired defence personnel with special value add-on schemes, such as accidental insurance coverage ranging from ā¹50 lakh to ā¹1 crore.
He said that SBI is also providing employment to ex-servicemen as security staff in various branches in the State. He assured of the bankās support in participating and contributing effectively through various schemes for rehabilitation and resettlement of ex-servicemen in the future.
