Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate a seminar on ‘Coconut-based land use and changing climate’ organised by the Kerala State Land Use Board (KSLUB) at Hotel Mascot at 9.30 a.m. on Monday. Organised in connection with the 50th anniversary celebrations of the KSLUB, the seminar is aimed at highlighting the need for scientific and systematic coconut-based cropping/farming systems as a strategy for economically viable coconut farming in small holdings. Minister for General Education V. Sivankutty will preside. Minister for Food and Civil Supplies G.R. Anil will launch the ‘Sajalam’ website on the occasion. The seminar is being conducted in collaboration with the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and the Coconut Development Board.
