Surveyor found dead in Mudigere

A surveyor of the Land Survey Department at Mudigere was found dead at his residence on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Shivakumar B.S., 54, a native of Bennehalli in Gubbi taluk of Tumakuru district. He is survived by his wife Pushpalatha and a daughter.

He was living in a rented house in Mudigere, while his wife and daughter were in Bengaluru, where the latter was studying. He ended his life when he was alone at home. Family members reached Mudigere after learning about the incident.

According to the police, Shivakumar had left a death note at his office. Based on this, Shivakumar’s wife, Pusphalatha, filed a complaint with the Mudigere police.

The surveyor reportedly named three people, including a woman, in the note and stated that they harassed him repeatedly over the survey of land at Kunnahalli village in Mudigere taluk. The woman spoke to him over the phone, engaged him in a sleazy conversation, and blackmailed him for money. The Mudigere police have taken up the investigation.
