The South Western Railway has decided to replace the conventional rakes of three pairs of express trains with modern LHB (Linke-Hofmann-Busch) coaches, offering enhanced safety and improved passenger comfort.
A release stated that LHB coaches will be provided for Train No. 17301 Belagavi – Mysuru Express, with effect from July 1; Train No. 17302 Mysuru – Belagavi Express with effect from July 4; Train No. 17307 Mysuru – Bagalkot Express with effect from July 2; and Train No. 17308 Bagalkot – Mysuru Express with effect from July 3.
The upgraded LHB rake composition will include two AC 2-tier, six AC 3-tier, seven second-class sleeper coaches, four general second-class coaches, and two luggage/ generator cars. The new LHB rake will comprise 21 coaches, replacing the earlier 22-coach ICF rake, the release added.
Similarly, Train No. 17313 SSS Hubballi – MGR Chennai Central Express will run with LHB coaches from July 2. And its corresponding service, Train No. 17314 MGR Chennai Central – SSS Hubballi Express, will run with LHB coaches from July 3.
The upgraded LHB rake composition will include: one first-class AC coach, two AC 2-tier, three AC 3-tier coaches, six second-class sleeper coaches, four general second-class coaches, one luggage/ generator car, one second-class luggage and disabled-friendly coach, and one AC pantry car, the release added. The new LHB rake will comprise 19 coaches, replacing the earlier 21-coach ICF rake.
