The toll rate for vehicles passing through the Walayar and Panniyankara toll plazas on the National Highway 544 will increase slightly from April 1. Both toll booths will have an average increase of two to three% in their rates.

At Panniyankara toll plaza, there will be an increase of ₹5 for small vehicles like car, jeep and van. Till now, small vehicles were being charged ₹165 for up and down. It will increase to ₹170. The monthly rate for cars will go up from ₹3,695 to ₹3,825. The up and down rate of mini buses will go up from ₹255 to ₹265. For buses and trucks, the toll rate will go up from ₹520 to ₹540.

At Walayar toll plaza, the rate for small vehicles will continue to be ₹80 one side and ₹120 up and down. The monthly rate for small vehicles will go up from . ₹2,615 to ₹2,710. They can cross the plaza 50 times one way.

For mini buses and pickups, one way rate will go up from ₹125 to ₹130. For up and down journey, the new rate will be ₹195. Their monthly rate will be ₹4,375.

The new rate of buses and trucks will be ₹275 one way and ₹410 up and down. Their monthly charge will be ₹9,165.
